So many different types of fruit- Raspberries, Gooseberries, Blueberries and more... Growing soft fruit in your garden is beneficial, providing you with fresh, healthy and delicious produce

Raspberries

Raspberries are one of the easiest fruits to grow, they are hardy plants that produce sweet fruit and are suitable for most locations

Blueberries

Blueberries are great for growing in smaller gardens, they can be grown in the ground or in a container, using ericaceous compost because they need acidic soil

Blueberries are also ornamental, with pretty flowers in Spring and beautiful foliage in Autumn

Gooseberries

Gooseberries can grow up to 1.2m high and wide, either in the ground or in a container, even up a wall to save space

Plant in sun or partial shade, they should be pruned twice a year to keep them in good shape and maximise harvest

Strawberries

Available in single pots and strips.

Strawberry plants are easy to grow and once they are more established they are very low-maintenance, home-grown strawberries provide a healthy and a nutritious treat which can be used in desserts or jams.

Varieties: 'Sweetheart,' 'Albion,' 'Cambridge Favourite' and ' Fenella'

Loganberry is a hybrid fruit, crossing a blackberry and a raspberry, creating a tangy, slightly tart flavour with subtle sweetness.

Tayberry is a vigorous hybrid fruit, also crossing blackberry and raspberry, best picked when deep purple-red in colour. Excellent for jams, puddings and also eating fresh.

Boysenberry is a super hybrid with a complicated cross between a blackberry, loganberry, dewberry and a raspberry! They are easy to grow, disease and drought tolerant.

Rhubarb

We have many different varieties of rhubarb, such as:

'Livingstone' - Pink-red stalks, begin to grow in Spring through till Autumn.

'Victoria'- A traditional variety with thick, greenish-red stalks, best for heavy cropping in large pots.

'Glaskins Perpetual' - Sweet stalks, best for continuous harvesting throughout Summer.
