Planting Schedule by Bulb Type
- Daffodils & Crocuses: Plant from September to October so they can grow strong root systems before the cold winter.
- Snowdrops, Iris & Hyacinths: Plant from September onwards.
- Alliums: Plant from mid-to-late Autumn
- Tulips: Wait until Late October to November to plant them; the cold soil helps stop a fungal disease called tulip fire
Late of forgotten bulbs: If you miss the ideal window, you can still plant most bulbs as late as December.
